Dispersion inequalities for the Compton effect on the pion and the nucleon at t = 0

The t-channel helicity formalism is used to obtain model-independent inequalities of the sum-rule type for the differential cross section of scattering of a polarized photon by a pion and for the unpolarized Compton effect on the nucleon at t = 0.
