Brookhaven National Laboratory has been asked by the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission to establish and maintain a data base of information that will describe, on a current basis, research in the nuclear power field that is likely to result in lower radiation dose to workers. This paper reports that this information is being sought by the NRC to satisfy its congressional mandate and to ensure that adequate efforts are being made by the industry and others. Also, this information will be particularly useful to those doing related research and those considering new projects for dose reduction at nuclear power plants.
