Seasonal precipitation concentrations and depositions for North America from the CANSAP/NADP networks

Conference · · AIAA Pap.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5590609
Precipitation chemistry analyses from the Canadian CANSAP and the United States NADP networks have been combined to provide descriptions of wet deposition over North America. The disparity between the two nations' sampling protocol (monthly in Canada, weekly in US) has been accommodated in the analysis procedures. Seasonal and annual precipitation-weighted concentrations and depositions have been calculated. These calculations show that the greatest concentrations of sulfate occur over southern Ontario while the greatest depositions occur over Pennsylvania. The greatest sulfate deposition occurs in summer and the least in winter.
