Within the framework of the intranuclear-cascade model we analyze the mechanism of the ({ital K}{sup +},{ital K}{sup +}{ital p}) reaction on the light nuclei of photoemulsion (C, N, O) at the kaon energies 130 and 283 MeV. There is good agreement between the experimental and theoretical characteristics. We show that in the region of low momenta {ital q} transferred to the residual nucleus the main contribution to the cross section comes from the mechanism of direct proton knockout. In the region of high {ital q} the contribution from processes with kaon or nucleon rescattering in the final state becomes important.
