Possible investigation of small'' amplitudes for the photoproduction of pions on nucleons in partial reactions

The impulse approximation and the shell model with intermediate coupling are used to calculate the partial elastic and inelastic cross sections for the photoproduction of neutral pions on {sup 6}Li, using different theoretical predictions for the {gamma}{ital N}{r arrow}{pi}{ital N} amplitudes. It is shown that the partial inelastic reaction cross sections depend strongly on the isoscalar amplitudes for the elementary processes, which are not known with adequate precision.
