Confirmation and consequences of a reduced pion-nucleon coupling constant

We address some misconceptions concerning the low values of {pi}{ital NN} coupling constant recently extracted from {ital pp} and {pi}{ital N} scattering data. We discuss the effect of this lower coupling on other systems. Suggestions are made for future investigations.
