Focal areas of increased activity on hepatic scintigraphy in superior vena caval obstruction have been well documented and are thought to represent systemic-portal venous shunting. To our knowledge, this has never been demonstrated by computed tomography (CT). The authors report two cases of incomplete superior vena caval obstruction which showed an abnormal area of increased contrast enhancement on hepatic CT representing collateral vasculature through liver tissue.
