Extreme dynamic response of the Troll gravity platform is considered. The effect of nonlinearities related to the modelling of soil behavior and wave loading are investigated. The nonlinear soil model is required due to a hysteretic behavior of the relatively soft foundation. The nonlinear wave loading is mainly due to intermittent submergence of the shafts caused by finite surface effects. The analysis is based on stochastic simulation of the excitation process and step-by-step response analysis in the time domain. Estimation of extreme response is then made from the simulated samples of response maxima.
