This plan sets goals and strategies to reduce further the amount of waste being landfilled by promoting the reduction of the quantity of waste generated, the reuse, recycling, and composting of materials; and the recovery of energy from waste. The document comes up with an action plan for implementation and includes appendices of waste quantities and composition calculations; technologies for alternative waste reduction, recycling, and recovery; state statutes and administrative codes; and a bibliography of the Department of Natural Resources' publications on recycling.
