Four-point function in the BBGKY hierarchy

Journal Article · · Astrophys. J.; (United States)

Higher order galaxy correlation functions follow a hierarchical pattern, but the amplitude coefficients Q, R/sub a/, and R/sub b/ are freely adjustable, even within the completely hierarchical picture. I derive in the BBGKY hierarchy the relation R/sub a/ = R/sub b/ = 2Q/sup 2//3 and compare this result with other previously derived relations and with data from the Lick and Zwicky galaxy catalogs.
