Materials for nuts in the form of hollow bars or forgings shall be examined circumferentially by the angle beam method in accordance with SA-388, Article 23, ASME Code, Section V. Nuts made from shaped (nonround) stock shall be examined circumferentially by the angle beam method at the latest stage possible for meaningful results (but prior to threading).
