The transport equation for microwave energy in a large metal chamber is solved to find the plasma emissivity and the coefficient for the transport of microwave power from the plasma--chamber system to the input of a radiometric receiver. An experimental method is proposed for determining this transport coefficient (for calibrating the radiometer scale) using the microwaves emitted from a plasma in a metal chamber. The results found using this method to study the plasma in the Uragan 2 stellarator are reported.
