Economically optimum spacing and site preparation for slash pine plantations

Effects of site preparation intensity and tree spacing on slash pine plantations at harvest age, including tree height, size, and survival, and wood volume and specific gravity, were determined. Optimum combinations of site preparation, spacing, and harvest age for slash pine plantations for production of pulpwood and sawtimber were also studied. Results of the study are outlined and presented in tables.
