Mechanism of the reaction /sup 3/He+. cap alpha -->. p+d+. cap alpha. and low-lying states of /sup 5/Li
We analyze experimental results obtained in study of the spectrum of deuterons from the reaction /sup 3/He+..cap alpha -->..p+d+..cap alpha.. in an ..cap alpha..-particle beam with energy 26.5 MeV. We estimate the contribution of direct breakup /sup 3/He..-->..p+d, which reaches about 20% for an angle theta/sub d/ = 15/sup 0/. The shape of the deuteron spectrum indicates an expressed pairing interaction in the final state. The angular distribution of the group of deuterons corresponding to production of the ground state of /sup 5/Li in the quasibinary reaction /sup 3/He(..cap alpha..,d)/sup 5/Li is satisfactorily described in the framework of the distorted-wave method for the mechanism of transfer of a proton with l = 1 and j = 3/2. We discuss the d..cap alpha.. interaction in the final state and show that it can influence substantially the values obtained for the energy and width of the first excited state of /sup 5/Li.
