Mass spectra of adducts of uranyl trifluoroacetylacetonate

Mass spectra were obtained for adducts of uranyl trifluoroacetylacetonate with trimethylamine oxide, trimethylphosphine oxide, dimethylsulfoxide, trimethyl phosphate, and pyridine, including labeled preparations enriched with 0-18 in the uranyl group. The mass spectra of all the adducts include not only ions containing the neutral ligand in their composition, but also a full set of ions formed by fragmentation of the unsolvated chelate. It is shown that the presence of a neutral ligand appreciably enhances the detachment of a B-diketonate ligand during fragmenation. A partial loss of 0-18 from the uranyl group occurred during the detachment of oxygen-containing neutral ligands, especially in the case of trimethylamine oxide.
