Spectroscopic observations of the WN 6 star HD 192163 associated with the ring nebula NGC 6888 confirm the periodic (P = 4/sup d/.5) spectrum variability suspected by Koenigsberger et al. In a model close binary the primary star has a mass function f/sub WR/ = 10/sup -2/--10/sup -3/ M/sub sun/; hence the mass of the secondary, probably a neutron star, is roughly-equal1 M/sub sun/. HD 192163 may be regarded as a close binary system in its post--x-ray stage of evolution.
