High temperature aluminides and intermetallics; Proceedings of the 1st Symposium, Indianapolis, IN, Oct. 1-5, 1989

Conference ·
OSTI ID:5568441

The present conference on high-temperature aluminides and intermetallics discusses their stability and phases, their dislocations and deformations, their ductility and fracture characteristics, and their surfaces and interfaces, as well as their mechanical properties and their physical metallurgy. Attention is given to the role of structure maps in the search for new intermetallics, dislocation mechanisms for anomalous flow in L1(2) alloys, environmental embrittlement of ordered intermetallics, the deformation and fracture of Ti3Al-based alloys, strain-age hardening and crystallization in deformed intermetallics, high-temperature mechanical properties of intermetallics, and recent developments in Ti-Al-Nb alloys. Also discussed are nickel beryllides and their properties, nickel aluminides for diesel engines, and titanium aluminides for aerospace applications.
