This study is to examine the interaction of mixed convection and radiation in a vertical pipe subjected to uniform wall heat flux. An absorbing and emitting gas is considered and treated to be a gray medium. The method of moments is employed to describe approximately the radiative heat flux in the energy equation. The effects of buoyancy and radiation on the velocity and local Nusselt number are investigated in detail. Results provided in this paper show that the local Nusselt number increases with the increase in the buoyancy effects and radiation-conduction parameter.
