Nonrelativistic deuteron form factors have been calculated using the modified dispersion approach in which the electromagnetic form factors of the compound two-body system can be fully determined in the explicit quadrature form on the basis of the available information about the electromagnetic form factors and scattering data on particles forming the system. The relativization problems, the inclusion of meson exchange currents, and the consistency of the theoretical form factor description in the region of small momentum transfer q/sup 2/ with the constituent quark structure of hadrons which appears at large q/sup 2/, are discussed.
