Title: Aviation gasoline and kerosene-base jet fuel decontrol (Energy Actions Nos. 3 and 4). This hearing was conducted to review the Administration's proposal to exempt aviation fuels from mandatory allocation and price regulations, energy actions 3 and 4. Under the provisions of the Emergency Petroleum Allocation Act of 1973, such a proposal may become effective only if, at the conclusion of a 15-day review period, neither House of Congress has passed a resolution of disapproval. DOE had concluded that aviation fuels were not in short supply and that decontrol would not adversely affect the supply of other fuels; DOE also found that competition was adequate to protect consumers and that decontrol would not result in inequitable prices. The accuracy of these findings was examined from witnesses' statements, primarily government officials and airline personnel. (MCW)
