Experimental validation of the CONTAIN code

Recent results demonstrating the calidity of the CONTAIN code have been reviewed. The results to date from the HDR and the ABCOVE code validation programs confirm the predictive ability of CONTAIN in the crucial areas of thermodynamics, surface heat transfer, intercell flow, and aerosol behavior. The results from a code validation exercise, ABCOVE AB-6, which is currently in progress, are expected to confirm the importance of co-agglomeration and the CONTAIN modeling of its effects.
