This investigation was concerned with the design, development, fabrication, and testing of an improved tamper-proof filter cassette assembly for use in the collection and evaluation of dust particles, primarily in mining areas. This report presents the design effort, fabrication and testing of five prototype units, and the design and production of 1,000 filter cassettes with sampling heads. This new improved filter cassette has been tested and approved as meeting the specified requirements.
