Socio-economic and environmental impacts that may be associated with the proposed efficiency standards for refrigerators, refrigerator/freezers and freezers, room air conditioners (RACs), central air conditioners (CACs) and heat pumps in the cooling mode are assessed. The proposed standards in use at the initiation of this study were those dated May 14, 1976. The proposed standards were revised prior to the completion of the draft final report and the tables and calculations herein were revised accordingly.
