This article discusses underwater construction activity, inspection and repair, deepwater technology, and current trends. Reports indicate that exploratory drilling off the coasts of over 60 countries around the world has created a demand for the Atmospheric Diving Systems (ADS) and the wide acceptance of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV's) predicts that diving services will likely grow only moderately through 1984, with major areas of activity in the North Sea, West Africa and Southeast Asia.
