Implications of heavy quark symmetry and chiral dynamics

The low-energy strong, electromagnetic and heavy-flavor-conserving nonleptonic weak interactions of heavy hadrons with light pseudoscalar mesons are studied in a formalism which incorporates both heavy quark symmetry and chiral symmetry. Some implications are discussed, including the strong decays of [ital D]* and [Sigma][sub [ital c]], the electromagnetic decays of [ital D]*, [ital B]*, [Sigma][sub [ital c]], [Xi][sup [prime]][sub [ital c]], the semileptonic weak decays [ital B][r arrow][ital D]([ital D]*)[pi][ital l][bar [nu]], and the nonleptonic weak decays [Xi][sub [ital c]][r arrow][Lambda][sub [ital c]][pi], [Omega][sub [ital c]][r arrow][Xi][sup [prime]][sub [ital c]][pi].
