Precision measurement of sin[sup 2] [theta][sub [ital w]] from [nu][ital Fe] scattering at the tevatron

We present the results of a preliminary determination of sin[sup 2] [theta][sub [ital W]] from a study of [nu]Fe scattering in the Lab E detector at Fermilab. The analysis is based on a sample of 5[times]10[sup 5] events with a mean neutrino energy of 166 GeV. Our result, sin[sup 2] [theta][sub [ital W]]=0.2242[plus minus]0.0044[sub [ital expt].][plus minus]0.0047[sub [ital model]], is the highest energy high statistics determination of the weak mixing angle using neutrino data.
