Calculations of lepton-pair spectra to leading logarithms in quantum chromodynamics

We explicitly evaluate the transverse-momentum distribution of lepton pairs produced in pp and p-barp interactions to all orders in quantum chromodynamics. Although this can only be achieved by approximation to leading logarithms, it provides us with an alternative to computations to lowest order in the quark-gluon coupling constant. We confront the two approximation schemes and discuss phenomenological implications for present as well as future (hadron collider) experiments.
