Enhanced oil-recovery field reports

A semiannual publication, developed in response to the need for more timely reporting on the progress of ongoing field tests of enhanced oil-recovery methods is presented. Enhanced oil recovery is considered to be recovery from a petroleum reservoir of additional oil over that which can be economically recovered by primary means and by conventional secondary methods such as waterflooding and gas injection. Geological and engineering data are given. Basic information on the reservoir and fluid properties along with maps, logs, and miscellaneous data are normally included in the initial report on each project. Thereafter, brief update reports are used to present new injection/production data and to report significant changes. Data are included in this publication without interpretation as to technical or economic meaning. Nevertheless, the basic data should provide professionals within the industry with meaningful technical information regarding field projects. This information should aid in collapsing the time factor needed to develop additional viable methods of enhanced oil recovery. Information is included on the following methods for enhanced oil recovery; steam drive, in-situ combustion, miscible fluid displacement, and microemulsion flooding. A list of terminated projects is given.
