This report examines the implications of projected energy trends on the labor market for energy-related scientists and engineers for the period 1986 to 1992. The information is intended to assist decision makers, program managers, and others concerned with energy policy and production or with the broader labor market for scientific and engineering personnel in industry, government, and the academic community. The report responds to the mandate contained in the legislation establishing the US Department of Energy, which specifies that DOE provide manpower and education information to assist in the accomplishment of energy R and D and energy supply objectives. 34 figs., 6 tabs.
