The listings and brief essays which are included describe capabilities and programs primarily at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory which can support automobile components manufacturing essential needs. Technical reports, consulting, the use of facilities, and, in some cases, directly supported work can be undertaken. Licenses to some patented technologies may be available directly from Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc., on an exclusive or nonexclusive basis. ORNL is presently in consultation with and provides support to several companies and government agencies which are in the automobile transportation system. These include the General Motors Research Laboratory, the Ford Motor Company, the Cummins Engine Company, and the Department of Transportation. Access to these services is available through the Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc., Office of Technology Applications.
