The quality assurance project plan (QAPjP) is designed to ensure that sampling and analysis activities are scoped and performed to obtain quality data during the preliminary site investigation for McMurdo Station, Ross Island, Antarctica. The QAPjP is prepared in accordance with the guidelines set forth and adopted by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (1980a, 1986a, 1989a), Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) (1988), and Pentecost and Doctor (1990). This document presents the final QAPjP for the preliminary site investigation. A drat version of this report was presented to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in January 1991. A description of the project and data quality objectives is provided in Section 3.1 of the work plan. Specific health and safety precautions and procedures are presented in the health and safety plan.
