Preparative and structural studies on the superconducting phase Tl/sub 2/Ca/sub 2/Ba/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 10/
- Lab. for Applied Physical Chemistry, Institute of Physical Chemistry, Peking Univ. (CN)
The authors have worked out the crystal structure for the superconducting phases Tl/sub 2/CaBa/sub 2/Cu/sub 2/O/sub 8/ (2122) and Bi/sub 4/Sr/sub 4/Ca/sub 2/Cu/sub 4/O/sub 20-{delta}/. It has been found that the former is more stable and hence less susceptible to stacking faults along the c axis and cleavage on (001) than the latter. Others have mentioned another superconducting phase of even higher T/sub c/ in the system Tl-Ca-Ba-Cu-O. It is rather difficult to obtain a sample of this phase that is homogeneous enough for our structural studies. Recently, the authors have succeeded in obtaining a rather pure sample of the phase Tl/sub 2/Ca/sub 2/Ba/sub 2/Cu/sub 3/O/sub 10/ (2223) and made an investigation of its crystal structure as well as superconducting properties.
