Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) integration in the Department of Energy Nuclear Weapons Complex (DOE NWC) requires automating the transfer of data. Two pilot projects were established to initiate meaningful electronic, graphic, and alpha-number data exchange between Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque (SNLA), and the General Electric Neutron Devices Department (GEND), and to test the available communication paths. The two projects are described herein and are Pilot Project No. 4, Design Definition Phase, and Pilot Project No. 5, Test Data Phase. Each pilot project is discussed in a separate section of this report. Each section begins with a description of the project objectives and includes the approach used, evaluation criteria, specific issues, and conclusions.
