High-spin states in /sup 83/Br and /sup 85/Rb

High spin states in /sup 83/Br and in /sup 85/Rb were studied via the reactions /sup 82/Se(/sup 6/Li,..cap alpha..n..gamma..)/sup 83/Br, /sup 82/Se(/sup 7/Li,..cap alpha..2n..gamma..)/sup 83/Br, /sup 82/Se(/sup 6/Li,3n..gamma..)/sup 85/Rb, and /sup 82/Se(/sup 7/Li,4n..gamma..)/sup 85/Rb at beam energies of 25 to 36 MeV. In-beam ..gamma.. techniques were used to collect the data. Level schemes were constructed and spin and parity assignments were deduced. Thirty four ..gamma.. rays could be placed in two level schemes. Three new levels with spins up to 17/2, 19/2 h could be established for /sup 83/Br and thirteen for /sup 85/Rb with spins up to 29/2 h. Strongly populated yrast bands were found in both nuclei.
