Some possible future uses for coal-tar pitch

The following uses of coal tar pitch are discussed (with the specifications required in some cases): graphitized electrodes for steel making (pitch is a binder), anodes for aluminum electrolyzers, carbon refractories for blast furnace linings, casting moulds, precision components made from graphite and thermosetting resins, pitch fiber pipes, production of carbon fibers, and pitch coke with an anisotropic structure.
