Emerging global synthetic fuels industry
Book
·
OSTI ID:5518517
This analysis of the growing global synthetic fuels industry examines the prospects for synfuels development in Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Japan, West Germany, Great Britian, Morocco, South Africa, USA, and Venezuela and scrutinizes the economic and geostrategic implications of synthetic fuel production from the point of view of both petroleum importing and oil producing countries. The demand for synthetic fuels through the year 2000 is evaluated in the framework of the supply/demand relationship of conventional gas and oil. Sixteen synthetic fuel production technologies and their relative economics are discussed, and projections are presented separately for each type of technology in use or planned for use in each of the countries surveyed.
