Assessment of district heating/cooling potential in Columbus, Ohio. Final report

This final project report relates the methodology, pertinent data, technical, economic, institutional and regulatory analyses and results developed over the course of a year-long feasibility assessment study performed by the City of Columbus between September, 1981 and September, 1982. Columbus was one of twenty-eight US cities that entered into cooperative agreements with US HUD and the Department of Energy for the purpose of assessing district heating/cooling potential in Community Development Block Grant-eligible communities. After describing the process and information employed in the Columbus assessment, conclusions are drawn pertaining to the apparent future of district heating/cooling in Columbus, and implications of this work for future national policy and local government action are offered.
