This report analyzes the outlook for world oil production through the early 1980s and examines the factors affecting the longer run oil outlook. The study also considers the relationship and interactions between energy demand and supply in OECD countries and assesses the size of price increases needed to bring demand in line with available supplies. In addition to the analytic overview, the report includes eight appendixes dealing with topics such as OPEC oil production, capacity, and policies; non-OPEC LDC energy positions; and the oil and gas production outlook in the OECD countries.
