This is the summary talk on the Fifth International Symposium on capture Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy and Related Topics. The lectures of this conference have centered around new high resolution experimental techniques of studying nucleon gamma transition rates, energy levels, and structure, symmetry in the IBM, statistical aspects and models of highly excited nuclei (via radiative neutron capture), and excitation of electromagnetic giant resonances.
