Angular anisotropy of fragments from fission of sup 242 Pu and sup 233 U by neutrons with energy 3. 80--6. 30 MeV
- Physics and Power Engineering Institute, Obninsk (SU)
A multi-angle 4{pi} detector (in which fission fragments were recorded by cylindrical glass detectors) has been used in a detailed study of the angular anisotropy of fragments from fission of {sup 242}Pu and {sup 233}U and the energy dependence of the ratios of the cross sections for fission of {sup 242}Pu and {sup 233}U to the cross section for fission of {sup 238}U by neutrons with energy 3.80--6.30 MeV. In the vicinity of the threshold of the ({ital n},{ital n}{prime}{ital f}) reaction a decrease is observed in the coefficient of angular anisotropy for the {sup 242}Pu target nucleus and then a rapid rise by almost a factor of two with a subsequent falloff. For the {sup 233}U target nucleus the reverse pattern is observed.
