Measurements of current-voltage characteristics have been performed on YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub y} films for two components of electric fields in the ab plane, E{sub x} and E{sub y}, in magnetic fields of the form (H{sub 0},H{sub 0},{delta}H{sub 0}), where x {parallel} the current density J, z {parallel} the c axis, and {delta}{lt}1. The simultaneous measurements of E{sub x} and E{sub y} under these conditions make it possible to analyze the situation of the vortex motion due to the Lorentz force. Our results indicate that vortices move as long-range correlated lines only below the glass transition temperature in a low-current limit. We also show that applying high-current density destroys line motion and induces a structural change of vortex lines in the glass state. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
