Radionuclide imaging studies of patients with acute scratal pain are presented. Forty-five patients had acute epididymitis. Displacement of the epididymis centrally or even medially was noted in 13 of these 45 patients. Thirty-five patients had acute torsion. Surgical exploration was performed in all but four, with torsion confirmed. Sixty-nine patients had acute scrotal inflammation that responded to antibiotic treatment. (KRM)
