Spin polarization and rotation of polarized epithermal neutrons scattered off heavy nuclei

We calculate the final spin polarization and rotation vectors for epithermal neutrons scattered from {sup 232}Th within the optical model and assess the influence of the parity-violating interactions. The role of local doorways considered responsible for the sign correlation is assessed and its effect on the spin observables is considered. {copyright} {ital 1997} {ital The American Physical Society}
