Fundamentals of diaphragm-type positive displacement meters

Conference · · Pet. Abstr.; (United States)
OSTI ID:5502528
Fundamentals of diaphragm-type positive displacement meters are presented, including operating principle, i.e., by sealing off a known quantity of gas and subsequently releasing it; components, performance, and characteristics; advantages, i.e., good accuracy over extended periods of time and flow ranges from low pilot loads to maximum capacity, adaptability to various integrating gages, relative design simplicity, rugged construction, and availability in a variety of sizes to a maximum of 11,000 cu ft/h at low inlet pressures; and disadvantages, i.e., in handling dirty gas, weight and physical dimensions per unit of capacity, and over-all capacity limitations.
