Risk assessment and risk management for an experimental nuclear waste processing facility

The purpose of this paper is to describe the application of probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) techniques and risk management of an experimental nuclear waste processing facility. The Process Experimental Pilot Plant (PREPP) is an experimental Transuranic (TRU) waste processing facility. The facility is located at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL). PREPP is owned by the US Department of Energy and operated under contract by EG G Idaho, Inc. 4 refs., 4 figs., 2 tabs.
