The requirements of a modern injector for single-point and multi-point injection, in terms of precision and width of the dynamic range, are extremely high and require injectors with a high degree of dynamics. Therefore one of the most important features of the solenoid injector developed by PIERBURG with regard to these particular requirements, is a very small inertia of the armature. This paper describes tests carried out and theoretical computing models for the description of the valve dynamics and for designing the magnetic circuit. For the latter, the finite element method has successfully been applied.
