Proceedings include 24 papers that focused attention on energy resources used for domestic transportation and the formulation of public policy related to contigency planning in the transportation life of the nation. The conference aimed to generate a collection of research papers and other materials that, when published as part of the conference proceedings, would be a useful resource for decision makers and others involved in energy contingency planning. Response of transportation to fuel supply and gasoline shortages and to energy crises are dealt with.
