Spectrographic analysis of uranium oxide (U/sub 3/O/sub 8/) by gallium oxide-carrier technique

The method covers the semiquantitative spectrographic analysis of high-purity U/sub 3/O/sub 8/ for the following elements in the ranges indicated: antimony, beryllium, chromium, cobalt, lead, nickel, potassium, and sodium (1 to 200 ppM); aluminum, iron, and silicon (5 to 200 ppM); arsenic, barium, cesium, phosphorus, vanadium, and zinc (10 to 200 ppM); lithium, magnesium, and copper (0.5 to 100 ppM); bismuth, germanium, gold, indium, manganese, rubidium, and tin (1 to 100 ppM); molybdenum (2 to 100 ppM); thallium (5 to 100 ppM); silver (0.1 to 50 ppM); cadmium (0.1 to 10 ppM); and boron (0.2 to 10 ppM). The method includes a discussion of apparatus, reagents and materials, standards, preparation of samples, preparation of apparatus, photographic processing, photometry, calibration, calculations, precision, and accuracy.
