Construction of symmetrized bases for several particles

A general method for constructing the hyperspherical harmonics (h.h.) basis for several particles is suggested. These basis h.h. correspond to given orbital quantum numbers and have the appropriate symmetry properties with respect to particle permutations. They make it possible to perform in a simple manner transformations necessary for calculating matrix elements, namely those from one set of Jacobi coordinates to another and from one structure of the h.h. to another. An application of the method to the problem of four- or six-nucleon bound states is discussed.
