Orienting effect of vortices on the directrix of rotating /sup 3/He--B

The combined effect of a magnetic field and superfluid vortex flows on the equilibrium orientation of the directrix of rotating /sup 3/He--B is theoretically investigated. It is shown that the presence of vortices is revealed by a shift in the transverse-NMR frequency, the effect being greatest when the external magnetic field is inclined at an angle of theta = ..pi../4 to the axis of rotation.
